When choosing color combinations for signage, consider the following points:

  • Background colors - Choose a color that is shown above that is either far right or far left. All mid range colors are difficult to achieve contrast in lettering, sign clarity or signage legibility.
  • Lettering colors - Choose a color that is directly opposing your background color. Avoid using colors for lettering or logos that retain similar impact values.
  • If you choose a white background, this is generally the better color for clarity and allows you to achieve uniformity across your whole business communication.
  • GOLDEN RULE:
"If it looks right, it is right..."
If you apply this rule to all designs and color schemes your signage will be dramatically improved.

General Influences

New Company vs. Old Company
An important advertising principle is to keep images and messages fresh, up-to date and powerful.
For new companies this is easy, for older companies with well established logos and color schemes, updating your image is an important decision.
However, it must be completed. As markets become modern and wiser, people remain attracted to the 'new'.

Consider how to modernize your logos / images / color schemes without detracting from your original business logos more than 20%.

QuickSmart have assisted companies for more than 10 years with signage, promotion and advertising boards. If you would like assistance in modernizing your logos please ask.

Also see our unique Easy payment options to assist upgrading your signage.

Businesses that understand the need to keep updating the logos / images and upgrade the  expression of their business never lose.

Timeline of upgrading logos - Generally, QuickSmart have noted that successful businesses upgrade or modernize their appearance every 6 to 8 years.
